Mans Broekgaarden

Mans Broekgaarden is a tenured principal investigator of the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research (Inserm), and works at the Grenoble-Alpes University in France. He obtained his PhD from the University of Amsterdam in 2016 on liposomal photosensitizing agents for cancer therapy, and performed part of his research at Utrecht University’s Department of Membrane Biochemistry and Biophysics. As a post-doc, he joined the group Tayyaba Hasan at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, a thematic research institute of Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. There, he worked on photodynamic therapy/chemotherapy combinations for pancreatic cancer. He joined the team of Dr. Jean-Luc Coll at the Institute for Advanced Bioscience in Grenoble for a second postdoc, where he was awarded a tenured position in 2020. His groups investigates light- and radiotherapy-controlled release of chemotherapeutics.
