Eyad ALMOUAZEN is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at the Faculty of Pharmacy-ISPB, University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (France). His research activity at the LAGEPP (Process Control, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering Laboratory) UMR-CNRS 5007 concerns the conception of innovative strategies for drug and vaccine delivery.
After graduation as Pharmacist from the University of Damascus (Syria), he obtained the PhD degree in 2013 from the University of Lyon for his work on Development of polymeric nanoparticles for targeting and modulating macrophage functions. Then, he has been in charge of several French (ANR Metavac), European projects (Paravac, Pepticaps) and industrial projects exploring novel delivery systems and their biological evaluations.
His work is mainly focused on targeting immune cells by nanocarries tawords efficient immunomodulation and vaccination combining physico-chemical, biopharmaceutical and biological scientific approaches. Eyad ALMOUAZEN is co-director of industrial pharmacy department and lead the pharmaceutical section of the InnoBioVir platform at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Lyon.
