Abstract Submission Guidelines

General information

As an early career researcher, you can participate in the Early Career Scientist (ECS) Meeting 2022 either with a short oral presentation about your research or with a short scientific communication (video format) aimed for the general public.  To do so, just follow the guidelines below.

Short oral presentation

Format: Participants that wish to give an oral Presentation (10 minutes + 2 min for discussion) must submit an abstract.

Guidelines:

Template: Download the word template here. Do not change the headings, font or font size.

- Format: Abstract body is limited to 400 words (does not include title, authors, references). The total size of this document should not exceed one page, figure included (font: Calibri, size 11);

- One image may be uploaded (optional);

- Content should be structured into the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion and References;

- Abstract must be written in clear English.

Your abstract should be sent to crsbnlfecs@gmail.com as a word document. The subject of the email should be ‘Abstract Submission: CRS BNLF ECS Meeting’.

Deadline for submission: March 19th, 2022.

Abstract submissions may be withdrawn until March 19th, 2022.

Selection: The abstract will be evaluated by the CRS BNLF Scientific Committee and will be assigned a rank order based on its scientific content. Abstracts will be rejected if they do not comply with submission guidelines.  The presenting author will be notified of the abstract status on March 22nd, 2021.

Science Outreach Communication: Explain your research to your parents!

Format: This competition will allow young scientists (Intern, PhD, Postdoc..) to communicate their research accessibly and attractively to a non-scientific audience in a 3 minutes video. In other words, imagine explaining your research to your family using simple terms. Each presentation will last 3 minutes using 3 slides maximum.

Guidelines: To participate, send a vulgarized summary in English of your research with a maximum of 10 lines in a Word document to crsbnlfecs@gmail.com. The subject of the email should be ‘Science Outreach Communication Submission: CRS BNLF ECSC Meeting 2022 ’.

Selection: The scientific committee will select the participants based on scientific popularization, conciseness, and creativity. Do not miss the deadline for summary submission: March 19th, 2022

The participants will be informed about the decision on March 22nd, 2021.
